21 Questions With Hollywood Sins Lead Guitarist Blaine Walker
01. What’s the name of your band? (What’s the origin of that name? Have you changed the band’s name before?)
Honestly we were trying to come up with a name for about a year. In this day and age pretty much any name you can think of has been taken. It’s very hard to come up with something cool that hasn’t been used already. My singer Danny and I were in a band back in high school called Metal Fuse and for the longest time I was wanting to go by just “Fuse.” But it was a new band and we were writing new songs and we wanted to start fresh instead of being tied to our past so we started tossing every name we could think of into the mix and it always turned into someone saying “hey what about this?” and then the other one going “nah that sucks.” Ok what about this? “nah that’s gay” Lol This went on for about a year. We were on vacation in Cuba and were listening to a Sixx A.M. song off the “This Is Gonna Hurt” album called “Sure Feels Right” when I heard this line that goes “I make a hard left as the sun comes up, over Hollywood Vampires ditching their luck” and I stopped immediately and said to Danny “DUDE!!! Hollywood Vampires, that’s fucking wicked!!!” We both thought it was dope at the time but as days went by Danny thought it would associate too much with Twilight and all that stuff and it would almost make us look like a joke. We both really liked the “Hollywood” part since most of the bands we love are from there and the word itself triggers cool images and associations as soon as you hear it. I had previously tossed around a band name called “SIN” and I remember saying one day to Danny what about “Hollywood Sins?” and as soon as I said it he said “that’s the one.” The rest is history.

Toronto’s Hollywood Sins Are Ready To Convert More Sinners To Their Side
Hollywood Sins is the band you’ve been waiting to hear on the radio and the band you’ve been dying to see live. Nostalgic with a modern edge they are high energy, fist pumping rock ‘n’ roll at its finest. They bring the swagger and attitude and back it up with strong songwriting and energetic live performances. Appealing to a diverse audience ranging from classic rock fans to popular mainstream culture, Hollywood Sins has it all. Big riffs, catchy hooks, and the ability to crossover to different styles while remaining true to their roots. Raw, real and unapologetic, Hollywood Sins is the result of a collaboration between Blaine Walker and Danny Quatrale, two visionaries who had nothing else to live for except their shared love of music and a dream. To follow in the footsteps of their heroes while carrying the torch of rock ‘n’ roll to a new generation of music fans.
The story of Hollywood Sins began on June 24th 2011, when Danny Quatrale reunited with Blaine Walker on his birthday after not seeing each other since highschool 8 years prior. The two were in a band together back in school that played various talent shows and battle of the bands around their hometown of Toronto, Canada but after highschool everyone in the band went their seperate ways. Both very excited at the thought of working together again, the two began writing music and practicing obsessively every spare moment they had 7 days a week.
Within a short period of time they had amassed a huge collection of newly written original songs. Not having a full lineup at the time they decided to enlist local studio musicians Kyle Teixeira on bass and Jason Pierce on drums to play on their self-titled 6 song EP which was recorded in the summer of 2012. Pierce, who has worked with artists such as Justin Bieber, Paramore, Treble Charger, Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys) and Melissa Auf Der Maur (Smashing Pumpkins) among others also produced the record. With hard rock anthems like “24/7″ and “Dirty Girl,” infectiously catchy upbeat radio friendly pop rock songs like “Enough of You” and “Pretty Little Psycho” to sleazy L.A. glam punk on “Snake Eyes” and ripping heavy metal with “Sick N’ Twisted,” this album is everything rock fans have been craving.
Fast forward to Sunday April 7th at the Virgin Mobile Mod Club. Hollywood Sins makes their live debut with Danny Quatrale on lead vocals, Blaine Walker on lead guitar, Randy Pardy on bass and Andrew Page on drums. Hollywood Sins was one of 16 bands part of the Landmark Showcase, a three round competition culminating in a final industry showcase at Montreal’s prestigious Club Soda. The hype leading up to their first show was overwhelmingly staggering and before they ever stepped out on stage and played their first song, they already had a legion of cult followers affectionaly called “Sinners.” They were like an army all proudly wearing their Hollywood Sins t-shirts like a badge of honour. Hollywood Sins destroyed the competition and placed in the top two, allowing them to advance to the next round at the Opera House on Saturday May 4th, 2013. They owned the stage once again and blew away the competition granting them a spot at the final industry showcase in Montreal at the end of the summer.
Influenced by oldschool bands like Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue, KISS, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and newer bands like Robin Black, Buckcherry, Sum 41, Billy Talent and Papa Roach, Hollywood Sins is keeping the torch burning by turning younger generations on to rock music and satiating the hunger for new music to the older crowd that grew up with it the first time around. The 60′s generation had The Beatles, the 70′s had Led Zeppelin, the 80′s had Guns N’ Roses and the 90′s had Nirvana. Hollywood Sins are ready to stake their claim as the next successors to the throne and remind the world what a great rock ‘n’ roll band should be.
They have the look, the sound, the attitude and the passion. They are the culmination of everything that’s happened in rock n’ roll since it’s inception. Loud, rude and aggressive, Hollywood Sins is the epitomy of what a rock band should be. We welcome you to a life of sin…

After our May 4th show at The Opera House we were contacted by a PR company that operates out of L.A. and Vegas that was interested in working with us. We just made international news with a press release that was published on us and added to the front page of Mi2n-Music Industry News (the biggest online news source for the music industry). On top of that we’re also going to have our song “Dirty Girl” featured on the “It’s A Banger!” digital sampler compilation CD that will be distributed at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 12th and will also have our own artist profile featured on MTV.com which we were told reaches in excess of over 115 million people!!! We’d like to thank everyone that has helped us get to this point. To all the fans that have come out and supported us at all the shows to all the opportunities that were presented to us through Landmark and Supernova, we are truly grateful!!!
A big thank you to everyone that came out to the Opera House show on May 4th. Once again our fans were the loudest, wildest and rowdiest crowd of the night. In our opinion we dwarfed our Mod Club performance. We were top ticket seller for the second time and will now advance to Montreal for the final industry showcase. We have been absolutely blown away by the reception from you guys. Your loyalty and support mean the world to us. Thank you Sinners!!!
